OOTD: Gaby's Casual Spring Outfit

Walking around school, I seemed to receive positive feedback from this outfit. So now here for the entire internet to see, a spring outfit! I love pairing something that flows with something tight. Adding simple, yet cheap, accessories is an easy way to play up an outfit too. Urban Outfitters has such a great variety of sunglasses for about $10-$18. So here is a great look to either wear to school (if you love being dressy, like me) or just about anywhere. This look may be construed as casual or even dressy.

Spring Nail Polishes

When I think of spring I think of pastels and bright colors. It's when the sun starts coming out again and flowers are in bloom. This spring I have been loving these colors: Coverup by Urban Outfitters, The "It" Color by OPI, Nude by e.l.f., and St. Lucia Lilac by Essie. These polishes are a mix of brights and pastels that make your nails pop for the season.
See you next time!

Bohemian Spring Looks

Hello there Lacefigurettes! A major fashion trend that's been showing up a lot this year is the Bohemian look. Events like Coachella bring out a festive side in people and the Bohemian look is very popular during the spring/summer time. The following pieces are some examples of boho pieces from Topshop and I will further mention more stores you can purchase things like these from!

These are two different bohemian outfits. One is a straight-out bohemian outfit whereas the other is something that you can build up on with different pieces and accessories.
On the left: I would consider this a very bohemian outfit. The patterns and textures in it scream out casual and boho. Bohemian clothing seems very 'hippie-dippy' and natural looking. The flowing pants are comfy and cute at the same time.
On the right: The right isn't very bohemian, but with the right accessories, it can be! People think that you have to buy ridiculous clothes that you'll only wear once a year for a special event. In this case, you can reuse both these pieces for any normal day! To make this look more boho-chic, add some round sunnies and a sheer kimono.

These are some great accessories to add onto your outfit. You could wear anything plain or even a more festive outfit to make it look more eccentric.
Floral headbands have been very popular at events like Coachella. Cult Gaia has a great selection of crowns, but they're very pricey. Kimonos are being sold at tons of different places now like Urban Outfitters and Topshop, they're great for when you want to transform a plain outfit!

OOTD: 5/3/13

Today, I decided to show you guys what I wore a few days ago. The color combination is not something I would usually wear but I am really happy I tried it. On a normal day, I would not wear black and yellow together because it reminds me of a bumble bee. On the morning I threw this outfit on however, I was just looking for something quick that wouldn't look lazy. I didn't even remember the bumble bee part until I was out the door, and I am happy I didn't. I like how casual yet put together this outfit looks. It made me realize that even though there are colors you "are not suppose to put together," it doesn't matter and you should just try it. It might work, just like the bumble bee.

Simple Cat Eye

Hey guys! So this is just a simple little 4-step picture of how to create the perfect cat-eye. I do this on a daily basis because I think that it gives your face a much more vintage look. Liquid eyeliner works best for this look because you'd want the line to be very fine and solid.

Here is the part where I go all personal and gushy: Thank you all for your never-ending support! We have surpassed 10,000 views in under a year and I could not feel more accomplished for just starting. If these great ratings continue, Sam and I will have more interactive events that aren't private. If you actually know us in person, this Saturday there will be a clothes sale so feel free to message either one of us.

Sam's Spring Looks

I decided to show you guys what I'd wear in the Springtime. So I put together a few looks to show you guys.
Hat: Farmer's Market
Shirt: Free People
Skirt: Mango
Necklace: Thrifted
This is more of a monochromatic look that is very in for spring. It is girly and cute because of the accessories and the cream color. It reminds me of something I would wear to the beach because it's light and the hat helps with the sun.
Dress: Wasteland
Vest: Zara
Socks: Marshall's
Beanie: Zara
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Skull Lita
This is more of a grungy outfit. For some reason every time I put on this beanie I feel grunge. I really like this outfit because the mixing of styles. The dress is more girly but all the black and the military vest is very grunge.
See you next time :)

Simple Spring Looks: Gaby

Hey guys! So here are a couple outfits that I will wear during the spring-time. I tried going with light and airy since the weather is starting to get warmer. I'm really starting to miss the winter but nevertheless, spring is a time for being outdoors at concerts and on beaches! For sunnier weather, I really enjoy a Bohemian-inspired outfit with some great sunglasses.

Top: Free People
Bandeau: Brandy and Melville
Shorts: ?

Dress: Gypsy Junkies
Headband: H&M
Flats: Chanel

Most of the pieces from these two looks were actually thrifted! The Gypsy Junkies dress, Free People shirt and high-waisted shorts were all thrifted from various stores. A great way to get designer clothes for a steal is to either check out consignment stores or high-end thrift shops (my favorite is Wasteland).

Caitlyn's Style Profile

Caitlyn Sheridan; Age: 15

Living in Los Angeles, there is such a huge range of different types of fashion and styles. Walking along the road, you may find such a diverse look among the people. California's casual yet edgy vibe allows people of all ages to dress the way they like. Caitlyn's style stands out among the crowd because of her vintage feel and use of bold prints.

What would you describe your style as?
"I'm not sure how to describe my style but I would think of it as a mixture between modern and vintage. I really like to mix up a bunch of different colors and styles of clothing."

What is your fashion inspiration?
"I don't really have one main source of inspiration. I just mainly see high fashion and think it's cool. I read a lot of teen vogue and find inspiration throughout all of the pages. I mainly go out to public places like flea markets and see what everyone else is wearing."

Why do you like fashion?
"I like fashion because it's something that a lot of people can appreciate but not strive for. Fashion is just something easy for me to personally get into. I really enjoy receiving comments and it's become something that I'm known for."

Spring Lipsticks

For this Spring, I have realized that I have been gravitating towards lighter colored lipsticks. I like how it can really brighten your outfit and face. With pastels and lighter colored outfits, the lighter lipstick just makes people look fresh faced and cute.

My first lipstick is Revlon's Coralberry. It is a less intense coral. For people who want to try coral but are afraid of orange, this is the color for you. It is probably my most used color.

This is E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick in Barely Bitten. It is basically a better version of my lips. It's very nice for when your outfit is too much for a crazy lipstick color.

This is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush. I was attracted to it because of the berry color. I always seem to like berry colors. I like this lip stain because you can layer it to be darker or lighter. It also stays on a long time.
See you next time.

Gaby's March Favorites

I have put together my March favorites for you today! I've made some very lovely discoveries (some already previously mentioned) that I cannot live without. Enjoy!

This is Maybelline's Colorsensational lipstick in Plum Perfect. This color is so beautiful and I just carry this lipstick around with me everywhere I go. This plum-like color is nice to put on because when I'm in a lazier mood and my make-up is bland, I put this on and it looks like I've actually attempted to look nice for the day.

I've mentioned this wonderful gel-lotion before, but it works WONDERS. Garnier's Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream has become a nightly routine for me. I usually just wash my face (which ends up quite dry) and then I just apply a bit. I notice that my face is much brighter and less dry/patchy on areas of my face. This was about $6 at Target which is such a great price for a face product.

This is Sephora's Primal Instincts eyeshadow palette for $28. I find it hard to buy eyeshadow palettes because I usually don't like all of the colors but I just adore this one. It's great for casual daytime looks and fancy nighttime looks too. I almost purchased Urban Decay's Naked Palette but it is quite pricey ($50) and I found this one with the same color range and half the price. I have used this almost every single day and I still get excited to make new color-combinations still.

I've always seen commercials and ads about the Wen shampoos and conditioners and never really came along to trying it out. My mom gave this to me as a gift and I just can't stop smelling my hair. I love all things that remind me of winter (figs, vanilla, apple cinnamon and so on) and this sweet almond mint smell is so yummy. The conditioner itself is just alright but the smell is beyond amazing. I also love how there's a pump on top of the bottle because it makes using the product much simpler in the shower.

I have recently become addicted to all John Green books. The Fault in Our Stars was the first one I read and I am absolutely hooked. *spoiler alert* After following the life of a cancer patient, Hazel Grace, I've taken into perspective that I need to stop being such a couch potato and start going out more. For about a month, I would jump into bed every night, turn on my fairy lights and pandora then read for about half an hour or so. I would highly recommend other people to read this book. Keep in mind; the slower you read the book, the longer your fake relationship with a fictional character lasts.
